Classroom Language

We want our students to speak English all the time. But do we provide them the language they will need during the lesson?

Classroom language is easy and is repeated over and over again. Have the basic language displayed in the classroom. Teach one sentence per class. Add sentences as they come up during the lessons.

Students will feel comfortable to use them once they see it is not that complicated.

Hello!
Good morning/afternoon/evening!
May I have (the scissors, a pen, a pencil)?
May I go to the toilet?
May I drink some water?
What’s ____ in English?
How do you say____in English?
I don’t know.
I don’t understand.
Can you repeat please?
Please check this.
It’s my turn.
I can’t find my___
I don’t have ___
Good bye!
See you next week.
See you next class.
Have a nice weekend.
Excuse me.
I’m sorry.
Thank you.
You’re welcome.

We do think of these common sentences which are often repeated.
Thank you for suggesting we put them down the way you have.
