Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13, 1989) is an American country pop singer-songwriter. Raised in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, Swift moved to Nashville at the age of 14 to pursue a career in country music. In 2006, she released her debut single Tim McGraw, followed by her self-titled debut album which has sold over 5.5 million copies.[4] She was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2008 Grammy Awards. In November 2008, Swift released her second album, Fearless, which has sold 8.6 million copies.[5] The record earned Swift four Grammy Awards, including the Album of the Year, at the 52nd Grammy Awards.[6][7] Swift was named Artist of the Year by Billboard Magazine in 2009.[8]
