Mark Zuckerberg doesn't like the Apple Vision Pro, the PlayStation five is in its golden girls era, and AMD finally throwing it back.

We're going to be going over the hottest tech news I can find on the internet while you enjoy your breakfast this Thursday, February the fifteenth.

We're going to start off today about a video that seems to be making the rounds across the internet with Mark Zuckerberg giving his thoughts on the Apple Vision Pro.

Mark Zuckerberg, the guy behind the company known as Meta, which owns the company that was Oculus, which makes the device like the MetaQuest III.

Where's mine?

In this video shared across socials, Mr. Zuckerberg talks about how he thinks that not only is the metaquest three a better value, it is a better product period.

And the entire thing was filmed on the metaquest three's little cameras on here.

And he discusses a lot of the advantages that their company has.

Which, as a user of both devices in the past little bit, I do understand where he's coming from.

However, I do have to take a few quibbles with things.

Number one, I think if the Vision Pro launched at five hundred dollars where the Quest Three is, there would be no conversation about the Vision Pro being a better product than the Quest Three.

Number two, he talks a lot about software, which is going to take some time to develop.

As I've discussed at length in many of my discussion points of the Vision Pro, Oculus has been developing this space for quite some time and we are still on less than two weeks since the Vision Pro launched.

It takes a while to build out infrastructure in a software ecosystem and just, yes, the quest is better.

for that, but that reason is what led a lot of people to compare Mark Zuckerberg's video with Steam Vault Bomber talking about the iPhone.

He laughs it off, talks about how the price point makes absolutely no sense.

Five hundred dollars for an iPhone with a full subsidy?

Are you freaking kidding me?

Additionally talking about how their stuff is cheaper.

It has a wider install base It has a keyboard and business users are never gonna use iPhones because they don't have a keyboard and that he wants to see where it develops in a few years because people clearly are not going to use the Apple devices and

And while I can see that there are merits to what Mark Zuckerberg talks about, I do think it feels very similar, that why is he even talking about this instead of talking about what meta has coming out in the future?

It's an intriguing move, not sure it's the wisest thing that he could have done, but uh, I didn't hear him say sweet baby Raze, not even once.

And while Soylent isn't people, it turns out people might be part of the downfall of AI, especially when it comes to large language models that are trying to be commercialized.

And one of the lawsuits targeted at OpenAI and their use of copyrighted work has been deemed being able to move forward.

Now, a lot of this lawsuit, which is by comedian Sarah Silverman, has been stripped down to different parts because there were multiple things, including suing them for negligence, unjust enrichment, DMCA violations, and accusations of vicarious infringement.

All of those have been stripped away from the main lawsuit, and it's just going to be the principal claim of that there is copywritten material being used to train the large language models, and that is not good.

Cool, so that's going to move forward.

OpenAI tried to get this dismissed back in August of last year.

That didn't move forward.

And this is one of several lawsuits that's being held against OpenAI right now when it comes to copyright infringement, including by various other authors, as well as the New York Times.

So we'll have to see how all of this shakes forward.

But this is a change in that the copyright

portion of the lawsuit is going to march forward.

And Sony's developing their PlayStation five a little less because they're talking about how the PS five is in its waning years, it's golden years.

And they marked down the number of units that they're expecting to sell from £

that it's got a killer deal for you and that's you don't need to spend five to seven trillion dollars in order to develop AI chips and that might be a full hearty endeavor.

This is NVIDIA CEO Jensen Wong talking about CEO of OpenAI Sam Altman's quest to get five to seven million dollars to build out a new set of infrastructure for AI chips.

Jensen thinks that that probably isn't necessary, specifically saying if you just assume that

Computers never get any faster.

You might come to the conclusion that we need fourteen different planets and three different galaxies and four more suns to fuel all of this.

Additionally saying that, remember that the performance of the architecture is going to be improving at the same time.

So you cannot assume just that you can buy more computers.

You also have to assume that the computers are going to become faster and therefore the total amount that you need is not going to be as much.

Additionally, Jensen saying that NVIDIA themselves have increased the computing power behind AI over a million fold over the last decade, which is like more or less true.

They have substantially increased what's going on, and they're additionally supposed to be coming out with their Blackwell GPUs later this year that are supposed to accelerate it even further.

Just look at this graph right here.

That's an unknown amount of improvement.

Look at how gradiented that graph is, which,

does make a lot of sense, Sam Altman thinks we need more chips immediately, but to build out the five to seven trillion dollars in infrastructure to get fabrication facilities up and running, you're not getting those chips for a very long time.

So investing in the architectural development, potentially even just getting AMD to compete with Nvidia when it comes to having full scale AI chips that can be sold

would be more advantageous, at least according to all of the details that are here.

So I tend to agree a little bit more with Jensen on this one.

Obviously he wants to be the one who's going to make all of those chips.

Why fund competitors?

Why have money from sovereign wealth funds when you can just trust good old team green?

I trust Nvidia with my whole heart.

Kyler doesn't, turns out, which is good, because AMD wants to get your heart back, or at least get it to lag a little less, because Anti Lag Plus, allegedly coming back to video games very soon.

You might remember this little piece of technology, which is similar to NVIDIA's Reflex, was pulled out of video games because it would cause anti cheats in games like Call of Duty, Modern Warfare II, PUBG, Counter Strike II, to make it so that gamers would get banned.

It just triggered everything.

And when an AMD employee was asked, hey, when's this coming back?

It was, yes, coming soon.

So this is just, number one, the marketing I've come to expect with AMD.

I still remember and hold it against them that they launched a GPU in Fortnite like Star Wars launched a plot point in Fortnite with Palpatine returning.

can't make that move.

And then also when asked about a critical software feature that, you know, you kind of would want the company to have, they, yeah, at some point we'll return to form for the thing that we took away from you after we promised that it was actually going to launch last year, but technically you don't have it anymore.

It's just, um, typical AMD things.
