Ladies and gentlemen, today I will take you through five of the most satisfying revenge wins in the history of the UFC.

Listen, if you're a mixed martial artist and you make it to the UFC, you step out there in the UFC's octagon and you fight an opponent and you lose.

But not only lose, you get knocked out in spectacular fashion and the whole world laughs at you.

It not only obviously hurts physically, but mentally it absolutely kills you.

Your opponent mocks you, the world laughs at you, you're ridiculed online and that pain does not go away very easily.

However, if you get a chance to follow that up, you get to fight that opponent again and you get to go out there and win.

But not only win, win in spectacular fashion, potentially get a knockout.

Let me tell you, that is one of the most satisfying feelings on planet Earth and I am speaking from experience.

So today, as I said, I'm going to take you through five of the most satisfying revenge wins in UFC history.

Listen, Matt Serra was an incredible UFC fighter known for his heavy hands and his world-class jiu-jitsu.

His first run in the UFC didn't go to plan and he parted ways with the organization.

However, season four of The Ultimate Fighter, they did what was called the comeback season, where former UFC fighters got another crack at the job.

They went on The Ultimate Fighter and if they won the entire season, then they would get a shot at the belt in the respective weight class.

Now, Matt Serra competed in the welterweight division and the champion at that time was Georges St-Pierre.

Of course, Matt Serra would go on to become the season four Ultimate Fighter champion.

So he got a crack against Georges St-Pierre.

Now, Georges St-Pierre at that time, he was the champion of the world.

But more importantly, he was seen as the future of the sport.

A well-rounded, mixed martial arts, excellent karate, wrestling, jiu-jitsu, and just a freak athlete.

And just recently, he had gone through Matt Hughes, the longtime welterweight champion, and destroyed him in two rounds.

For this reason, Matt Serra was not given much of a chance.

And when they did fight, it shocked the world.

Because Matt Serra went out there early in round one, caught him with a huge right hook, it wobbled Georges, had him all over the place.

He followed that up a few more punches.

As I say, it shocked the world.

His hand was raised, the belt was around his waist, and Matt Serra was the welterweight champion of the world.

Now, everybody couldn't believe it.

More importantly, Georges St-Pierre could not believe it.

But even though he was embarrassed, Georges, like a true champion, was willing to step in there and try and get that belt back.

And that is exactly what he did.

So the rematch went down over a year later.

And in that year, Matt Serra had been rubbing it in.

He'd been talking a lot of crap, calling, you know, calling in French.

He called them red wine drinkers, just doing whatever he could to annoy Georges.

And hey, fair play, you know, all's fair in love and war.

But as I say, the rematch went down, Montreal, Canada, in front of 22,000 screaming Canadians.

Listen, Matt Serra, as always, talked a lot of crap, made it a lot of fun, right?

So in front of his hometown people, Georges St-Pierre went out there and put down an absolute masterclass in revenge battery.

Over two rounds, he destroyed Matt Serra, beat him from pillar to post all over the octagon, landing 129 of 143 shots.

Most of which were power punches and strikes.

And on the flip side, Matt Serra was only able to land 10 shots, none of which really did any damage.

Now, in round two, Georges St-Pierre ended it with absolutely sickening knees to the midsection, a brutal ground and pound.

It was a huge win for Georges St-Pierre and one of the most complete revenge wins ever.

Number four, Michael Bisping versus Dan Henderson.

Now, I was going to go with Luke Rockhold because I knocked him out.

But listen, when it comes to revenge, you know, listen, yes, Luke Rockhold finished me in the first round.

Dan Henderson finished me in the second round.

But Dan Henderson, when he finished me at UFC 100, that was one of the most devastating, spectacular, brutal knockouts that the sport had seen for quite some time.

And when I said at the start of the video, when the whole world laughs at you, that is precisely what everybody did to me.

Now, that fight took place in 2009.

I didn't get a chance for my revenge until 2016, seven years later.

And that was seven years of torment and abuse from Dan Henderson's fans.

And hey, fair play.

I asked for it.

I talked a lot of crap going into that fight.

And Dan Henderson certainly put me in my place.

In fact, when he leapt over me and landed on top of me and knocked me unconscious, he even made that the logo of his gym.

He had it on his shorts.

He had it on his banner.

It became synonymous with Dan Henderson and synonymous with my chin as well.

So when I got a shot at fighting Dan Henderson, listen, for me, that was a big deal.

Of course it was.

Listen, a lot of critics said that Dan Henderson was too old.

He was past his prime.

I knocked out Luke Rockhold at UFC 199 to become the champion.

I went out, I had a few beers, I celebrated.

Are you intoxicated?

Monday morning, Dana White called me with Lorenzo Fatita.

And because Dan Henderson had knocked out Hector Lombard on the same card, it made all the sense in the world for the rematch to happen.

And that did go down UFC 204, October 2016, just a few months later in Manchester, England.

Now the whole game plan coming into this fight was avoid the right hand.

But like my old boxing coach used to say, shout out Mark Kinney, he used to say, you can't go in the rain without getting wet.

Meaning you're going to get in a fight, you're probably going to get hit.

And Dan Henderson made a career of using that right hand.

The H-bomb, as he called it.

And the H-bomb landed, not only once, but twice in rounds one and round two.

And I couldn't believe it.

Everyone couldn't believe it.

He connected with the right hand.

I hit the deck.

He shattered my orbital bone.

I got back to my feet.

Round two went on.

Boom, he connected again.

It wasn't looking good.

My face was destroyed.

I could hardly see.

I was blind in one eye already.

But somehow, someway, rounds three, four, and five, I picked him apart.

I did a lot of damage.

And I got my revenge back.

Granted, it wasn't a knockout performance.

But still, I went out there.

I beat the man on a level playing field.

Because let's be honest.

In 2009, Dan Henderson was using testosterone replacement therapy.

Number three, Cain Velasquez versus Junior Dos Santos.

UFC 155, December 2012.

And UFC 166, October 2013.

Now, first of all, the reason I gave two dates there is because these two gentlemen, Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos, fought three times, okay?

Anytime it's one on one, a lot of the time they want to do a rubber match.

And that's what we saw in this instance.

Now, Cain Velasquez was the undefeated heavyweight champion of the world.

And he was lauded as the future of the sport.

One of the most complete heavyweights we've ever seen.

A cardio machine.

Heavy hands.

Great boxing.

Incredible wrestling.

And as I say, he was the champ.

He destroyed Brock Lesnar to take that belt.

Now, the UFC signed a huge landmark deal with Fox TV. It was a massive turning point for the organization.

And the first ever event was going to be held on Big Fox.

That meant that the whole of the United States had the opportunity to watch this fight.

And in this historic event, would be headlined by Cain Velasquez defending the heavyweight belt against Brazilian phenom Junior Dos Santos.

Now, as I say, this was the first time that this was on American network television.

And over 9 million people tuned in in the United States alone.

Now, sadly for those guys, the fight didn't last very long.

In fact, it lasted only 64 seconds, okay?

We wanted this great back and forth match before two huge titans.

But what we saw was a quick, savage beatdown from Junior Dos Santos.

There was a little feeling out process earlier, and then, woof, a massive overhand right from Junior Dos Santos.

Sits down Cain Velasquez, gets the TKO, and we had a new Brazilian heavyweight champion.

But of course, the story wasn't finished there.

Cain Velasquez would indeed earn the rematch 13 months later at UFC 155.

And let me tell you, this was a very, very different story.

Over five rounds, Cain Velasquez punished this man.

In fact, I would say it was more satisfying than getting a knockout because the punishment that he dished out.

Over five rounds, Cain took Junior Dos Santos down 11 times, had 14 minutes of control.

He landed 210 strikes versus only 60 for Junior Dos Santos.

And of course, at the end, the scores were 50-45, 50-44, and 50-44.

It was utter domination.

Now, of course, as I said, the rubber match had to happen, and that went down at UFC 166.

And that was even worse than the original rematch.

Dos Santos, again, landed only 60 punches.

But this time, Cain landed 274 shots.

The fight was stopped in the fifth round.

It should have been stopped earlier.

The referee went in there and saved Junior Dos Santos from any more punishment.

And the reality is that Junior Dos Santos, after those two savage beatdowns, he was never the same fighter ever again.

Number two, Quinton Rampage Jackson versus Vandelez, the axe murderer, Silva.

Now, listen, Vandelez Silva, the axe murderer, the man that would do this, an old opponent of mine and one of the guys that inspired my career, to be honest.

The violence that this man provided inside of the square ring of the Pride FC was just ridiculous.

It really was soccer kicks, football kicks, insane knockouts, beautiful Thai clinches.

And Rampage Jackson felt that on a couple of occasions.

He knocked him out twice in Pride.

In Pride Final Conflict 2003, knocked him out in the first round.

Vandelez Silva was laughing at Rampage as he was actually beating him up.

And then Pride FC 28 2004, an absolutely disgusting knockout from the Thai clinch, which left Rampage unconscious, draped through the ropes.

But of course, time changes a lot of things.

And people said that in Pride, a lot of people were using steroids.

Now, the UFC actually bought the Pride organization, and all the fighters came over to the UFC.

But in the UFC, they couldn't use steroids the same way.

And a lot of those fighters, well, their careers never panned out quite the same.

Now, Rampage Jackson was a teammate of mine at the time, and I saw how hard he trained for this third fight with Vandelez Silva at UFC 92. A massive card at the end of the year in 2008.

Listen, Rampage coming into this one, of course, there were skeletons in the closet.

He had fought this man twice.

He'd been knocked out on both occasions.

But this time, it would be a very different story.

They went out there, there was a feeling out process, and then this time, boom, huge, massive left hook from Rampage, one of his signature shots.

Drops Vandelez, jumps on top of him, hammer fisted the hell out of him.

First round knockout, and then of course, the Rampage Howl.

One of the best celebrations that you will ever see.

The Rampage won a fourth fight in Bellator in 2018, drawing the rivalry 2-2. But let me tell you, nothing was better than that knockout for Rampage Jackson over Vandelez Silva at UFC 92 in 2008.

Which brings us to number one, and of course, come on, this is not recency bias.

Israel Adesanya versus Alex Pajero, UFC 287, April 2023.

Listen, this isn't recency bias.

This is a fact.

This is one of the best ever revenge stories you'll ever see.

The reality is it might not be done yet, but you know the story, okay?

Israel Adesanya was a phenomenal kickboxer.

Then along comes Alex Pajero, 2016 in China, beating by decision.

Then they fight again in 2017 in Brazil.

This time, Pajero knocks him out.

A little bit later, as he makes the decision to start fighting in mixed martial arts, makes his way to the UFC, becomes an extremely dominant champion, a very wealthy, rich, international megastar in the sport.

And who comes bouncing along?

Of course, the old bogeyman, Alex Pajero.

Now remember, people said that Alex chased Izzy out of kickboxing and then followed him over to the UFC because he wanted some of that fame and fortune that he had.

And listen, he went over there and he took what was Izzy's.

He was fast-tracked, Alex Pajero, to a title fight because Izzy was so dominant.

He had beaten all of the contenders.

It seemed like there was no one else.

So not only did Alex Pajero get the shot, he took the belt as well.

It was a very, very competitive back-and-forth fight, one that Izzy was probably winning.

You probably know the story by now.

But in round five, he backed Izzy up against the fence, beautiful combination, went to the body, went upstairs, didn't drop Izzy, but definitely hurt him.

And referee Mark Goddard stepped in and stopped the fight.

And once again, Alex Pajero.

Alex Pajero was proven to be the kryptonite of his career, the bogeyman, whatever you want to call it.

His arch-nemesis, beating him in kickboxing, beating him in mixed martial arts.

And this is why this one is so special.

And I respect Izzy so much because straight away, he wanted to go right back in there with a man that had defeated him three times and stopped him twice, wanted to go right back in there and fight him again.

And that is exactly what happened.

UFC 287, April 2023, Israel Adesanya had his career on the line, but he put forward one of the best performances of his lifetime.

Listen, once again, the fight played out on the feet.

They're both kickboxers.

Round one, pretty tentative, pretty close, but I gave it to Israel Adesanya.

And so did the judges.

But then the knockout came.

Pereira backed him up, just like he did in round five of the first fight.

Backed him up against the fence, working the body, grabbed the title, jumped up with a knee.

That just missed.

Throwing more punches, got a little bit reckless.

Israel Adesanya said he knew he would do this, said he was playing possum, said he was pretending to be hurt.

Saw the opening.

One, two, boom, sat him down, jumped on him, hammer fist, devastating knockout, and dum, dum, dum, shot the three bow and arrows, and then that was it.

And I'm telling you, that is one of the best revenge stories of all time because he chased him for several years throughout two different sports, throughout multiple continents all over the world, from kickboxing to the UFC,

Took his belt, mocked him, laughed at him.

His kid laughed at him.

And Israel Adesanya chose to step back in there a fourth time, and he got the job done.

Now, if you ask me, they're not done.

They should do the rubber match.
