You know, I upload a lot of different types of videos on this channel.

But ladies and gentlemen, this is in regards to Cyberpunk 2077.

So as I've been researching this video on Sniperwolf, which if you haven't been following her on YouTube, she's a wild character.

But I've been researching her and, you know, honestly, I swear to God, I don't know what's a bigger tragedy, her attempt in comedy or September 11th.

It's a bad scenario.

But ladies and gentlemen, as I've been researching, I read comments on my videos, okay?

I read, you know, messages that are sent to me, things that I'm tagged in.

And one of the things that wild me out is, Muda, I think you're an influencer that's been promoting a negative hate campaign against Cyberpunk 2077.

Now, ladies and gentlemen, if it's one thing that I don't like is historical revisionism, okay?

You got to make sure that the history that has happened in the world needs to be kept intact.

So when we go into the future, human beings can learn from their goddamn mistakes, okay?

So Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that came out three years ago at this point.

And I'm gonna be honest with you, that's almost an entire high school period.

So time is passing, time is ticking, mortality is coming, okay?

I'm gonna die one day.

But before I die, I want to make sure that people know Cyberpunk 2077 did not have a good launch.

See, in the last couple days, I've kind of been talking about Update 2.0. And while I've been praising Cyberpunk and CD Projekt Red for matching up to what they kind of promised initially, we should not forget that this company straight up lied to us.

Now, ladies and gentlemen, TotalBiscuit passed away years ago.

God rest his soul.

If this man was still alive today, he'd be calling out this company for straight up lying and scamming and committing fraud upon the people, you know, that, you know, they call their fans.

Now, I'm gonna be real with you.

You might be like, wow, how can you say fraud?

What is lying, okay?

If I lie to you and tell you as a game developer that my video game will have feature A, B, and C, and I don't provide A, B, and C to you, and not only do I not give you the features I advertised, but the game that I made is buggy,

It performs like ass, hot ass, hot ass in a retirement home, then what is that called?

It's a scam, it's deceptive, and in some cases, it can be very fraudulent.

Now, CD Projekt Red patched up their game after three years, Update 2.0, and it's matched some expectations is all I'm really gonna say.

Now, I kind of put the soft gloves on, but I'm gonna be real about this.

I shouldn't be blown away that Update 2.0 fixed up driving AI, okay?

You know, if the AI can route their vehicle, that puts you on par with Grand Theft Auto 3, 2001 on the PlayStation 2, all right?

Yeah, not really that exciting, not really shocking.

What about, but the police is there, Muta.

The police tracks you around.

They look around for you in the city while you're wanted.

Congrats, you matched up to Grand Theft Auto 4. Remember how you lost sight from Liberty City cops, and they would just be on the map looking?

Yeah, this isn't new.

That's 2008, brother.

We are in 2023.

Now, again, while I'm glad that CD Projekt Red updated their game, and now it's in a much more complete state than it initially was, none of these features are groundbreaking.

A lot of this open world fluff that we're seeing, these mechanics, the artificial intelligence, is stuff that would have existed in modern PlayStation 2 games from back in the day.

And I'm not just talking about the Grand Theft Auto franchise.

I'm also talking about the GTA clones, like True Crime, New York City, like Godfather, the Godfather game, okay?

The good Godfather game.

You know, games like Scarface, The World is Yours.

You know, open world games back in the day were created by developers who released these open world experiences on systems that have 32 megabytes of RAM, all right?

They operated entire cities, made it feel lively, added cops, added gangs, added whatever.

The fact that CD Projekt Red managed to make this work on a PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, modern PC game in 2023 is not something that is blowing me away, okay?

It's just a fucking standard that has finally been met, all right?

Now, again, I want to just stress that for me, consumer advocacy is a big thing.

I don't like it when people and game developers lie.

I have shown throughout my videos, I have been accused by some intellectuals of faking gameplay videos, which is not something that happens on my channel, all right?

I take great pride in it.

I record almost every single second of footage that I have for any video game that I cover.

Why?

Because I have this rule in my body where if I'm ever reading like a message or an email or looking at gameplay footage, if I don't record anything myself, I actually don't 100% believe in the validity of it.

So I take great pride in my work, all right?

And if I ever do come across negative, I'm sorry if negativity bothers you, but in situations like this, I have to be realistic.

Now, CD Projekt Red lied about this initial game.

They talked about a massively immersive open world and they kind of build this game as sort of like a Deus Ex immersive first person game mixed with an open world action, like a, you know, open world title like GTA.

It was supposed to be this role-playing game, which later got turned to an action adventure game, right?

Again, I don't hype games for myself.

The reason with hyping games is usually when it comes to video game and then the discussions of video games, it becomes a big game of telephone over the internet.

One person on a forum talks about a feature, it gets shared around.

I go direct to the source.

I literally went to CD Projekt Red.

I looked at every single thing that they put out, all their gameplay footage, all of their advertising materials, and I built my expectations on what they told me.

If the game developers lie about basic features like police systems, like how immersive their open world capabilities are, a non-linear story, when 90% of this game storyline is linear, okay?

There's no branching paths.

There's nothing crazy.

This game is very much a linear start to finish story.

You may like the story, but it is not a open non-linear RPG era story that they were trying to bill it as, okay?

Let's just be honest about the situation.

These are all lies that are fed to us.

Now, one of the things that I get accused of is like, did I jump onto this hate bandwagon like every other influencer in the situation?

Which I think is such a condescendingly terrible take to have.

First off, this game is very popular.

People in the gaming space are going to be talking about this game.

The other thing I make it very evident is I've been waiting for this game since the birth of my channel, when I was covering Haunted Gaming, since the 2013 reveal.

You know why I made a video three months ago about Star Citizen?

Because I care about the game, because I bought into it early, because I've been following it since the Kickstarter days.

There's a lot of games and trending stories that I don't cover on my channel because I don't hear about them.

And even if I do hear about them, they don't impact me enough on an emotional scale to make a video out of.

That's one of the reasons why I'm making this video, all right?

When you bring credibility and you call me out on behaviors that I know that I don't do, I will get into a defensive mode and I will try to clear the record.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is a game that was created by a group of developers that lied about their product.

If you care at all about the industry of gaming, if you cared all about your rights as a consumer and the fact that you don't like fraud or scams, period, which is a pillar of my channel, then you will speak up against any developer that does this,

Whether they be CD Projekt Red, whether they be Rockstar Games, whether they be EA, whether they be Konami.

And speaking of other developers, Konami recently is making the Metal Gear Master Collection, a game that is, by the way, running a title inferior on modern hardware.

For instance, if you buy that game on the Switch, it's running at 30 frames per second.

Metal Gear Solid 2 on the fucking PlayStation 2 runs at 60 frames in the gameplay.

They can't even match that on the Switch, a system that is far stronger than the goddamn PlayStation 2. How we cannot call that out for absolute lazy effort is beyond me.

When I tell people, this is a bad game, don't buy it, it's not me being negative.

It's me telling you that is you rewarding bad practices.

Had you just got MGS2 on the PC and emulated it, you would get a far better experience.

And then I always get into people telling that, oh, are you promoting piracy?

First off, dawg, MGS2 is old enough to drink at this point.

That's how old the fucking game is.

Second of all, I have a copyright here, so I'm not pirating shit.

Get out of my face about all that.

But to whittle on things back to Cyberpunk 2077, before I take a million tangents out, this game was created by developers that lied about the functionality of this game.

Now, granted, they fixed up a lot of the problems three years down the road, but does that mean that history should be revised and people forget how much they lied initially?

When you have to deal with class action lawsuits, your game being taken off the PlayStation storefront, whether it be because you overzealously offered refunds or the game was just a putrid pile of ass on the systems you advertised for and told the world that it was surprisingly running well on,

That's not okay.

And that should never be tolerated in this gaming space or this community.

Ladies and gentlemen, what CD Projekt Red did was lie about their game, was deceptively hide aspects of their game from the public until it launched.

And we're not even going to get into the fact that when it came during the review period, there were people that weren't even allowed to show snippets of their gameplay.

It was very much a locked down review title.

Ladies and gentlemen, I'm glad that this game is fixed up and I honestly hope in three days when Phantom Liberty drops, it's going to be an amazing experience, but this should be a cautionary tale.

All right, you should never ever forget when a developer does this and you should stand up against practices like this.

I never understand the concept of fanboyism.

I like games.

I like game consoles.

I like just gaming in general, but when there is a bad practice, I will always stand up against it.

Recently with Xbox, I have been championing against their hatred of physical media.

I have done the same for PlayStation when we had a C-bomb issue and you know what happened in that situation?

Because of negative attention, the negativity that some people claim to hate, even though it's probably the most watched stuff on this platform anyways, that's what leads to actual solutions.

So when those videos were made about PlayStation's errors, a month later they did send out a firmware update that rectified issues.

Do you honestly believe CD Projekt Red would have an incentive if everyone was just careening and sucking them off for three years if they had lied to you blatantly about a game release?

No, the game was broken on release.

People complained about it and because of the vehement complaints and because people were holding CD Projekt Red to task, they were basically compelled to update their game and bring it to the state that it currently is today.

When you allow complacency in this industry, okay, when you allow complacency period, nothing truly advances.

When you do hold people to task, then things get better.

If I make bad like videos, if I make a bad video or a bad take, I appreciate people holding me accountable because then I can learn from it and I can make a better product at the end of the day.

Letting complacency breed, letting people get away with lying is never going to help you or this industry.

So I wanted to make this video to just kind of discuss this.

It's been hitting me for the last couple days on an actual real personal level.

So I wanted to talk about it.

I wanted to set records straight and I just wanted to get my word out there, ladies and gentlemen.
