Minecraft's most cancelled update of all time, this week's missing snapshot, the menu update that inches closer and closer to completion, and even more updates.

How you doin' lads, laddies, legends, everybody, this is me Waddles, and welcome back.

As you can probably tell from that long list of an intro, I've got updates on updates to tell you about.

You know what, no, nevermind.

I can't start the video on such a sad note, I feel like it's bad luck or something.

Let's talk about something else.

Since we last talked about Minecraft previews, my friends, so much has changed.

Two previews have dropped and an update was cancelled.

Instead of the next Minecraft update, which looks like it's gonna be 1.20.30, when you go to create a brand new world, a new toggle is going to be on by default.

Oh my gosh, it's beautiful, it makes so much sense.

Recipe Unlocking, just like on Minecraft's Java edition, if you want to turn this off...

Well, then you have to like turn it off, you see?

Recipe Unlocking, it's a feature that we've been following for a little bit of time now.

Top corner of the screen is a playlist.

Inside that playlist, sort it by old, and you're gonna be shocked.

Those old snapshot videos are...

Harsh.

After sitting and listening to me talk to you about Minecraft updates for hours and hours and hours, eventually you get to like one of the more recent previews.

Inside of that preview, it was finally added to Minecraft's Bedrock edition, and when it was added to Bedrock, it was off by default.

It seems like this recent change with the stuff being on by default now inside of your world, it means like the whole feature is basically fully finished and complete.

Whenever the next Minecraft update drops, 1.20.30, it'll be on by default on every single version of the game.

Java.

Alright, I hate to do it to you, but I have to do it to you.

It's been long enough now, Minecraft to Java edition.

This week's snapshot, 23w34a.

A fact that is so sad, but definitely true.

No massive amount of likes on this video right now this instant could even cure my sadness.

There is no Minecraft Java snapshot this week, and it seems that that is because the devs in one week's time have fixed one bug.

It was announced early on Wednesday morning before I even rose that this week's snapshot was cancelled.

They only said this week though, so hopefully we'll be back at it next week.

In semi-related but unrelated news, definitely much lighter news.

The bee, the Minecraft bee.

Oh my gosh, the tiny baby is so small.

The bee is now officially, it's four years old.

Oh my gosh, I can't stop with the sad news and the news that is making me age and grow more and more wrinkly.

Yeah, so earlier this week, I realized that it was four years ago this week, 2019, that bees were first added to Minecraft in a snapshot.

How time and I guess bees fly.

No pun intended.

Flashback rewind, last week, Minecraft preview 1.20.30.22.

There was a big feature that we were talking all about in the leaks that I never even got to talk about.

Recently, I've been trying to cook up some different kind of content for you lads, so that's why we didn't end up talking about it.

But if you tap play preview, and I haven't done this in game quite yet, but if I tap this button right here, oh my gosh, oh my God, that looks so different.

As a Minecraft Java main, why can I not have a menu like this?

Like I've only realized this menu has its flaws, and we'll talk about those in a minute.

But wow, that's clean, that looks so good.

I like the big screenshots, it's like an art gallery right here, it's wonderful.

So the menu update, the leaks that we were talking about months ago, turns out they were actually true.

This is what the new menu is going to look like once the menu is finally fully finished.

Just like what happened months and months ago, the create a world screen, actually it might have been years ago, but the create a world screen, it was revamped, and it looks like fresh and modern, you know,

Very sleek, it's nice.

The create a world screen looks like it's going to be the next menu to be updated.

So let's check this menu out.

If we tap on realms over here, we go to realms, still being worked on, beautiful art, and then servers over here, hey, it's still being worked on.

If you want to join a server, you got to tap that.

Now it looks like it's pretty seamless to swap back and forth in between the new UI and the old UI. All you got to do is tap that button right there.

I wonder what, oh, okay, okay, I got you.

So we got worlds for creators right here, that's very cool, then we have import world.

I don't remember that ever being so front and center, that's nice.

Up here in the top corner, we got the friends button.

It's another piece of the menu that's still under construction though.

So the menu, overall, I will say aesthetically, it's very clean, I like it.

If we tap on edit, we go back over to this screen, I think this is definitely the old one still, kind of matches better though.

The menu, for a lad like me who doesn't have very many worlds right here, it's not bad.

I like the whole pictures, it's clean, it's easy to look at.

The yellow experimental toggle, just like how it is on Java, kind of, that's cool.

I do think that creative and maybe survival could be different colors, that might stand out a little bit more.

However, the biggest concern, the problem, complaint that I've seen with this menu over on Twitter and the comments and everything like that is, what about people with a million trillion worlds?

This menu could then get pretty long.

If you scroll all the way down to the bottom of this new menu thing, you get a little pop up right here that says, hey, we're still working on it, give us feedback right here.

I definitely do think, and actually from the looks of some of the old leaks, I'll pop it up on screen if I can find it, but there needs to be a different way to sort the menu.

Maybe like a list way.

If I didn't care about having all these nice, wonderful screenshots on the menu right here, there should be a button, like maybe top corner or somewhere over there, maybe all the way up there.

I don't know, a button somewhere where you could just change it to a list where you'd have a long list of smaller thumbnail information laid out like vertically in a long line, you know, lists and lists and lists.

You can kind of like picture it.

Memory leak.

Fix the Bedrock dedicated servers memory leak while loading chunks.

So I was talking to some of my Bedrock friends here, and allegedly this was like a pretty big one.

In the world of more technical updates, hardened clay, more specifically stained hardened clay, was officially removed from the game.

If we take a look at hardened clay, there is absolutely nothing in the game.

In fact, if you're a little bit newer to the game, you might not even know what hardened clay is.

In one of the recent previews, The Flattening, a project that has been ongoing, a long saga for like multiple years now, to continue with stained hardened clay, aka terracotta.

It's all a pretty technical thing, but long story short, stained hardened clay has been removed and split into unique names like white terracotta and so on.

Composters, more specifically the bottom part of them, well, the camera is no longer going to phase through it.

Unfortunately, that's going to mean some tricky x-ray glitches involving the composter.

Yeah, they're gone too.

In the middle of the night in my dreams, my world is entirely bugged.

It's very weird.

It's really, really light here.

So it's going to be a little bit tricky to see, but did you know that this thing actually like lights up when it's activated?

I mean, like I knew that like it flashes, but I guess I just didn't realize that it's actually like giving off a light here.

The whole thing is including the amethyst thing now.

Haha.

That's so cool.

Ha. X. Hmm.

It doesn't really hit the same anymore.

Recently, to be honest, that's why I've been on it less if you're wondering, but over on X breaking news, like when I'm recording this right here, introducing Ask Mojang, an opportunity to ask us your questions about the Trails and Tales update.

So this thing is like literally brand new.

There's no interesting responses quite yet, but I do think that this is going to be really, really interesting.

Hopefully, we'll be able to get some like intriguing insight.

The quest I'll be setting out on is the answer to this mystery right here.

Hopefully I get some news for you.

So there I was sitting and waiting for Minecraft update that a very next Minecraft update too.

I was very anxious for one week.

I was waiting.

I thought the update would come out.

Then eventually, after one week pass, another week pass, and I'm waiting still, then tragically one more week pass and it happened.

The update was canceled.

That is rigged.

All right.

Well, a whole lot of bad luck situations seem to be happening to be inside of this world, and this exactly sums up how I feel.

For the better part of 2023, there's been about a Minecraft update every single month over on Minecraft Bedrock Edition.

That is until August.

It looks like August is going to break that cycle.

If you watch some of the other legends like Echo Soldier, Silent Whisper, you may have heard about it by now, but Minecraft Bedrock 1.20.20, it's the most canceled update of all time.

Thank you to all who participated in 1.20.20, but it's not going to drop quite yet.

The update has been merged with 1.20.30, and whenever it releases, it'll be a little bit bigger than usual.

So one of the big, I guess you could call it like series that I have going over here on the channel is talking about the Minecraft updates and recapping them.

I actually have a whole playlist for it.

I started officially doing it with the more like the smaller, if you will, Minecraft Bedrock updates with 1.19.10.

Since then, I've talked about every single update after the update drops.

Now sometimes to prep myself for the big updates, what I'll do is I'll record the video like slightly before the update releases.

Minecraft Bedrock 1.20.20 was going to be a pretty significant update.

This is going to be the update that officially fully brings crawling to Minecraft Bedrock Edition.

Like the original plan for this update was to remove crawling from experimental and fully drop it forever.

Are you perhaps having a little bit of difficulty locating the cherry blossom biome inside of Minecraft?

Well, 1.20.20 was originally going to be the update for you.

Inside of 1.20.20, the wandering trader would then be able to sell the cherry sapling.

This would be kind of beautiful.

Inside of 1.20.20, the crafting table and actually recipes and recipe searching right here, that was going to change a lot too.

Bedrock gang was also looking at over 200 block changes.

It was going to be really, really big and even more changes.

But now, unfortunately, it looks like September is going to be the month, at least, hopefully.

It's kind of funny, kind of tragic.

In order to prep for the new update that is now canceled, I had made this fire video talking about all the big changes, 200 blocks, blah, blah, blah, all that stuff.

But I don't think I'm going to end up dropping the video now.

Instead, if you want to know what's coming soon, the video is out for channel members.

Otherwise, we'll talk about it with 1.20.30.

Speaking of 1.20.30, we got 1.20.24, the brand new Minecraft preview that dropped yesterday.

In this brand new preview, it's actually like decently significant.

It looks like previews are going to continue for at least one more week for this update.

One of the biggest changes inside of this preview has to do with the zombie.

If we get attacked by this thing, it will light me on fire.

Now, that is if this thing is burning, the same rule is going to apply for things like drowned husks and everything.

The same rule is going to apply for any of the other mobs that are somewhat fiery and burn in the daytime.

This one is actually a Minecraft to Java parody change.

I'm surprised this wasn't over here until now.

It's so annoying.

But what are the biggest things inside of this preview?

Well, it's actually not even inside of this preview.

But on the changelog of this preview, 0.24, we have a little bit of a mention of these experimental trading changes.

It looks like the devs are again looking for even more feedback on these trading changes.

Nothing changed this week when it comes to them.

But considering the fact that they're looking for more feedback, and maybe the fact that there was no snapshot this week, maybe there'll be a next week's preview and snapshot.

Some of the feedback that has already been posted to get some additional insight here is very interesting.

A lot of points were actually raised from what I was looking at that I didn't even consider before for even more insight on this potential villager overhaul, including some semi survival tests.

Shader Shaders.

They were officially added to the game a little while ago.

They're pretty fire.

Inside of this preview, there's a couple of small changes having to do with the shaders.

When it comes to these changes, though, they're not really like new capabilities or anything like that.

It's really just cleaning up a little bit of these menus inside of here.

Some toggles have basically been organized a little bit better.

I still definitely think this menu down here could be a little bit better, though, like with this being so important, it almost feels like it could have its own section over here or something like that.

In a world of other .24 changes, water sounds.

When you enter and exit water, the correct sound should now play.

And finally, last but not least today, and in fact, actually definitely least, 100% terrible, not good, bad.
