Now, I know Blast being around sounds like a total joke, but the Heavenly Ninjas seem to find it a bit too funny.

Why?

Well, the truth is, they didn't have their lives stolen.

They offered them to that man.

Yeah, this Ninja Village is just a full on cult.

They are so brainwashed that they dare to call those who abandon it, such as Flashy Flash and Sonic, selfish for choosing to live their own life.

Now, as they continue to spout about how they're blessed, the only response left is to kill them.

However, someone beats them to it.

Any guesses?

That man.

By consuming human blood and guts, he will be reborn.

Thus, they offer themselves.

I'ma have to censor all this, but just know, it ain't pretty.

Thankfully, it's all again jutsu.

Someone called Itachi because Empty Void copied his entire flow bar for bar.

He's forcing these guys to watch some downright gruesome scenes.

However, Flashy Flash, as a true ninja of Kona, I mean the ninja village, can look past such tricks with ease.

Now this is where the manga and webcomic have once again gone in entirely separate directions.

In the webcomic, we don't even know Empty Void's name.

And in fact, he barely had any screen time, as following the match between Sonic and Flashy Flash, Saitama just off screened him.

But Murata is cooking with the One Punch Man story by expanding on Saitama's final adversary.

This is because it turns out Empty Void has entered Cosmic Throat Goat Mode.

That's right, he reaches all up inside himself and throws up one of God's cubes, telling Flashy Flash that he has passed.

Sonic on the other hand is insignificant.

Flash explains how he purposefully sent Blast to the wrong location, as he knew Empty Void would be here with him.

That way, he can force him to tell him everything he knows about God,

I mean, it's a great idea!

Because I'm sure sending the two most powerful characters away when going to battle a god level threat is just a genius idea, right?

NO!

It's just dumb.

Now the two of them go at it at top speed, which is crazy.

We must remember just how fast Flashy Flash is.

I mean, I know it's kind of in his name, but he was able to keep up with the likes of Platinum Sperm and Monster Garrow to the point where the three together left behind a geometric structure above the city.

Empty Void, on the other hand, is effortlessly keeping up with Flashy Flash, dodging all of his attacks,

all whilst carrying one of God's cubes, which we know to be extremely heavy to the point where just dropping one onto the ground from a small height will create a mini crater in the ground.

So the fact that he's being weighed down that much and still keeping up without trying shows just how strong Empty Void truly is.

I mean, like I said, compared to the webcomic it's entirely different.

We now know from chapter one hundred and ninety six that this guy was Blast's partner, likely sharing the number one class spot with him as they were a pair.

So just imagine someone with Blast's power level taking God's blessing.

He would be otherworldly.

Despite this immense strength, Empty Void hasn't even thrown a single attack during the entire fight.

His only goal is to recruit Flashy Flash.

Their speeds are enough to even overwhelm Sonic.

who notices how much stronger Flash has become once he's mad.

This is similar to how Saitama also levelled up considerably against Cosmic Fear Garou once his emotions went out of control following Genos' death.

However, Flashy Flash has remained calm enough to remember his training.

He closes his eyes so that he's not affected by the Genjutsu, something he excels at as he trained blindfolded as a kid to enhance his other senses.

The problem is, it's useless.

After all, Empty Void is a whole other level, as his Genjutsu is built on Esper abilities.

We know this as by using Psychic Waves, it infiltrates the brain.

It takes Flashy Flash's biggest fear and uses it against him.

That being Sight Hammer's Death Punch.

Just like how God can seek out a person's biggest dream, Empty Void has used Genjutsu to seek out their biggest nightmare.

One of the biggest themes of One Punch Man is how becoming obsessed with power and perfection can corrupt one's own judgement.

This is why Saitama's power is so often rejected by those in higher positions, as the thought of HIM being the ultimate being is incomprehensible.

Fashifash's entire childhood at the Ninja Village was spent by spending nearly every walking hour going through gruelling training to become the strongest of them all.

So Saitama becoming stronger than him by just downloading MyFitnessPal is a terrifying thought to him.

But the fact that his biggest fear is the Death Punch proves that deep down, Flashy Flash recognises that it's the truth.

This nightmare causes him to open his eyes, which is when Flash is once again under the physical Genjutsu as Sonic's severed head falls into his lap.

This gives Empty Void just enough of an opening to swoop in there and shove a tube in Flash's face.

Sonic tries to help, but is instead rejected.

Empty Void mentions how, if you provoke someone's inferiority complex, they will eventually succumb to God's power, which is what we mentioned earlier with Garou and Tatsumaki.

Sonic was in a similar scenario as he wanted power fast in order to defeat Saitama, and so he ate a monster cell.

However, it had no effect.

Now whilst this is partially because he microwaved it, there's also the fact that in chapter one hundred and ninety six we see a flashback where Sonic mentions how he was born with a powerful soul, thus the village couldn't control him as he had a dream for the future.

This is why the monster cells had no effect as his psychological state was firm and strong, which is the key to retaining your humanity and not becoming a monster as confirmed by Blast in chapter one hundred and ninety five.

This is how Garou managed to break through his cosmic fear transformation after he saw Tario lying dead on the ground thanks to his own doing.

Nonetheless, Flashy Flash then wakes up inside a dream world, which we have seen on numerous occasions, each time represented as a flowery meadow.

We saw Homeless Emperor in a similar place before his forfeiture, as well as Child Emperor in his battle with Phoenix Man.

This place was dubbed the Phoenix Space in that instance, but after the recent events of the manga, the entire scene has been recontextualised.

We saw God trying to manipulate the young kid in that instance the same way as all the others by appealing to his biggest desire of being accepted.

Before Saitama broke in and saved him, that is.

Now Flashy Flash ponders about where he's at, which is when stood atop of the hill is a young Sonic, saying, I'm glad I deserted the village with you.

We finally made it to the place of dreams we swore to.

The penny then drops as Flash realizes the place they're at is where they said they'd create a village together as kids.

However, we know that Flash's mission is to find out as much information on God as possible, thus it's not out of the realms of possibility that he's aware of what's going on.

Blast already informed him during the Monster Association war what the cubes and God's intentions are.

Also, the skills of any good ninja involve deception and information gathering, and as we know, Flashy Flash is the best of the best.

he admitted that the more outstanding the fighter, the more set they are in their original ways.

And as of this arc, Flash's ways are to defeat God.

Thus, Flashy Flash playing along to gather intel is very plausible, and so he tells Sonic, who we see is secretly God, that he was having a scary dream.

God explains that any nightmare would be better than the life in the village, and that starting now, they would build their own ninja village.

Both Madara and Hashirama then go to shake hands

Sorry, sorry, wrong series again.

Sonic, or God, I should say, reaches his hand out to Flash, who goes to take it in a panel that resembles the famous Creation of Adam painting, which represents the moment in which God gave life to Adam.

However, in One Punch Man, as we've discussed, power is the most important thing in life to many people, and so God giving them his is the equivalent to giving them light, like he did to Adam.
