Today, I want to take a look at Tiger Spite, the Dreaming City auto rifle that I know most of you know about, and I'm pretty sure majority of you have ridden this auto rifle off.

But let me just say, Tiger Spite, in both PvP and in PvE, is one of the best weapons in Destiny.

And this third iteration of it is truly the best version yet.

This is a kinetic precision frame on a rifle that fires at four hundred and fifty rounds per minute.

I have always enjoyed this weapon inside of PvP, but in terms of PvE, it has always had stiff competition, but that's where things have changed.

First, let's take a look at the perk options we have available on Tiger Spite.

In our third column, we have subsistence, overflow, outlaw, fragile focus, moving targets, and invisible hand.

Over in our fourth column, we have kill clip, frenzy, kinetic tremors, eye of the storm, attrition orbs, and demolitionist.

Now I want to first talk about PvE.

You probably see a number of combinations here that sound intriguing on this auto rifle.

For instance, we have subsistence, where defeating targets partially reloads the magazine from reserves.

Now, with this being an auto rifle, that's roughly seventeen percent of our magazine that's refilled after each kill.

But then we also have overflow.

This perk reads that picking up special or heavy ammo automatically loads this weapon beyond normal capacity.

which is a very solid role, guys, especially if you have means of providing special and heavy ammo for yourself.

You're pretty much always topping off that magazine.

And then we have Outlaw, which is a good one if you can land those precision kills, which of course increases our reload speed, and it's a great perk when paired with things like Kill Clip.

Moving over into our fourth column, Outlaw is really not the way to go, and that's because we have Kinetic Tremors.

This is the first time this season we have seen this trait drop on an auto rifle.

It's actually present on Breakneck, which is the gamut auto rifle, but it's present here on Tiger Spite.

It states that sustained kinetic damage to a target emits a shockwave that damages any nearby targets.

Now, the reason why I said this kind of conflicts with Outlaw is because a lot of times you'll get kills from that AOE damage, therefore precision kills.

Yes, you could still get them, but you'll run into situations where kinetic tremors is the thing that's getting the kill, therefore conflicting with Outlaw's requirement of getting that precision kill.

Now, kinetic tremors is different depending on the weapon, or more specifically, the archetype.

When we test it here at Carl, it takes roughly twelve shots to proc kinetic tremors, with each of those tremors dealing nine thousand, twenty two damage at three times in total.

So a little over twenty seven thousand damage here from kinetic tremors.

Now, in a single mag, you're able to proc kinetic tremors twice.

But if you were to rock any mag perk option, or even just rock something like backup mag, this gives you enough ammo to pull off three kinetic tremor procs before you need to reload.

Keep in mind though, there's roughly a two second cooldown before it can be reprocked again.

So if you're just spraying, you probably won't be able to proc more than once before needing to reload anyways.

And that's where perks like Subsistence is really nice, as it feeds back into the weapon as you get kills.

Now in terms of our fourth column perks, outside of Disconnected Tremors, we do have Kill Clip, we also have Frenzy.

Kill Clip being that at the end of the video.

Then we have Attrition Orbs, and I know a few people really like it, but personally guys, I just haven't found a good use for it in my playstyle.

And considering it's in the same column as Kinetic Tremors, I still find Kinetic Tremors to be the best damage dealing perk here guys, at least for PvE.

Now before we move into God mode territory,

I do need to talk about our origin trait.

It's called Advanced Reflexes, which states that upon taking damage from a target, quickly guard or aim down sights with this weapon to gain bonus mobility, handling, and charge rate for a short time.

Now, this is more of an origin trait for PvP, which is what we're going to talk about here shortly.

Essentially though, it gives us that mobility and handling bonus for free, just for ADSing after taking damage.

As for PVE though, it doesn't really make that big of a difference.

But a nice buff, especially if a complaint of yours about Precision Auto Rifles is that sluggish handling.

Now, in terms of its current performance inside of PVE, I need to bring up some things that happened at the beginning of the season.

First up, Auto Rifles received a ten percent damage buff versus Red Bar enemies, which was a nice addition.

And Tiger Spined is taking full advantage of that.

Now, against Red Bar Ads here at Coral, we're doing two thousand two hundred thirty nine damage to the body and three thousand four hundred eighty nine damage to the head.

Against Coral himself, this is one thousand five hundred three to the body and two thousand three hundred forty three to the head.

Now, this gives us a base DPS of eighteen thousand BTT.

with a base total damage of of the center of the trimmer.

And these go off three times.

That gives us a little more than twenty seven thousand damage.

and roughly a seven thousand five hundred eighteen damage per second tremor activation.

Now this increases our total damage here to one hundred four thousand three hundred eighty five damage versus Carl with a DPS value of, get this, twenty four thousand three hundred seventy two.

Now I need to bring something up about this.

This is less damage than some of our other weapons that can roll with kinetic tremors.

For instance, Showrunner and Buzzer.

Tigerspine is dealing less damage per tremor, as well as less DPS, with Showrunner dealing thirty four thousand six hundred nine total tremor damage, with a DPS of nine thousand five hundred eighty five.

Again, this is tremor DPS.

And then we have Buzzer dealing thirty seven thousand six hundred seventy seven total tremor damage, the DPS of ten thousand four hundred sixty five.

You see how things scale differently depending on the archetype?

And with all that being said, and I know on paper this doesn't look that great, in practice though, it's still quite nice.

You see, Showrunner burns through ammo so fast as a nine hundred round per minute SMG.

It's also possible to miss shots, and you've got to be within close proximity of your enemies, or at least close enough.

And then we have Buzzer, which is the same issue.

You have to be within close proximity.

And yes, Buzzer did get a buff, or most notably, an ease of use buff with Kinetic Tremors.

But the point I'm trying to make here, guys, is that Tiger Spines, being a four fifty auto rifle, you have that range.

You're able to proc multiple Kinetic Tremor procs, depending on the role that you have.

And you're able to do so safely.

So in my opinion, guys, I think that Kinetic Tremors on Tiger Spikes is still a great play and a comparative play against other weapons with Kinetic Tremors.

Even when we start taking into account other damage dealing perks, things like Kill Clip, which of course increases our damage here.

If you were to keep Kill Clip procced, you can squeak out to twenty two thousand five hundred sixty eight DPS.

But keep in mind, it falls off after five seconds.

Frenzy kicks our damage per second up to twenty thousand seven hundred fifty seven.

So I'm not saying those aren't solid options, but it's obvious that Kinetic Tremors, with it having that AoE damage on top of everything, its ability to deal with multiple adds, especially adds that are grouped together, it is the play, fellas.

Literally the kinetic play.

Personally, if I had to choose my god role for PvE, Arrowhead Break, bringing that recoil direction up to ninety eight, give me a Pendant Mag for that larger magazine size, preferably something like Overflow.

If I'm dealing with adds that are close to, like, add level, then I could still go with Subsistence, which is still a very solid option.

And then we have Kinetic

Trimmers.

Now if you're like Cross, I just don't like Kinetic Trimmers.

Fellas, you missing out?

Yes, you can still go with Frenzy or Kill Clip, but I'm telling you, that is the perk to go for PvE.

This is a great perk combination here, guys.

No, you're not going to be breaking the bank with Tiger Spite.

But considering you can overcharge this weapon this season with our Overload Auto Rifles being present, it's a kinetic weapon, so it's already netting more damage than its energy counterparts.

And Kinetic Trimmers is such a great trait as it kind of does the best of both when it comes to clearing adds that are grouped together and also dealing with meteor targets.

Personally, guys, I like it.

The only other suggestion I would make, if anti barrier auto rifles rolls back around, you may want to keep a roll with armor piercing routes, as it does deal increased damage against barrier champions.

I know that kind of goes against what we're trying to do here with the mag boosting perks to get multiple procs of those kinetic tremors, but that five percent increase in damage against PvE combat and shields is also really nice.

Now, let's talk PvP.

Guys, I have said it for years.

Tigerspite is one of the best auto rifles in PvP.

The issue is for the longest time, at least before the range rework, auto rifles just lagged behind.

Now, after the decoupling of Zoom and the range changes to all of our weapons, a lot of people jumped on Ammit, Firefright, and other auto rifles and just completely forgot about poor old Tigerspite.

myself included, which is why I'm so happy

we ended up playing with.

One was a kill clip moving target roll.

Great for six v six.

This one at sixty seven range.

Stability was okay at fifty one and a handling of sixty with that masterwork.

It also had arrowhead break which of course helped with that recoil direction.

Now this was a fantastic roll again for six v six.

Chaining those Kill Cook kills was fairly easy.

Now, time to kill wise, you're looking at point eight seconds from tier three resilience to tier ten.

Now, it does change in forgiveness.

From tier eight to tier ten, it's six crits, one body.

From tier seven to tier three, it's five crits and two body.

And what a lot of people don't know is that from tier two and below, you're able to get the kill in six crits.

This is roughly a point six, seven time to kill value.

very impressive.

We get some similar data values here with Frenzy, .

six seven seconds, and five crits in one body on tier two to tier five resilience.

And that becomes even more forgiving at four crits in two body on tier four resilience and below.

Again, still at .

six seven seconds.

Now with all that being said, I found this next role.

This was the role that allowed me to win so many one v ones.

I've got Extended Barrel, Moving Target, Eye of the Storm, and unfortunately, Flared Magwell.

Not the worst, but again, I would prefer maybe high caliber rounds or even ricochet rounds.

Luckily, I did get a ranged Mastwork.

Now, this actually kicks my range up to AD II.

My recoil direction with the Counterbalance mod was AD III, which is not bad.

Vertical enough.

But the reason why I bring this role up is that moving targets, which increases our movement speed and target acquisition when moving while aiming down sights, it also gives us that increase of aim assist by ten.

And this is passively.

And you're going to notice that target acquisition, that ability to land crits, even up against hand cannons, SMGs, moving target really helps guide things.

But then it's that final trait.

Eye of the Storm.

The weapon becomes more accurate and boosts handling as your health gets lower.

Now there's so many benefits to this, guys.

This is such a good trait on Tiger Spite.

It grants up to thirty handling.

It's got a minus forty percent accuracy cone size and a minus seventeen percent accuracy cone growth.

As long as your health drops below one fifty six,

which is literally someone sneezing on you, Eye of the Storm is proccing, and it will reach maximum strength of these data values here at critical health.

So at the moment you reach red, I found this trait, auto aimed Tiger Spite for me.

In those one v ones, when I needed it to clutch up, it did so.

And having the range be around at two, we're hitting some pretty high range values.

For instance, a base sixty two range Tiger Spite reaches up to twenty nine point six meters.

At ninety two range, it reaches up to thirty five point six meters.

And if you have a fragile focus roll, you can reach up to thirty seven point two meters at one hundred range.

Personally, eighty two range, guys, I was completely fine with this.

But I definitely believe you do need to tack on a little more range.

You need somewhere around eighty range.

Yes, you can roll arrowhead break, which I know definitely helps in that recoil direction.

But I think you can get away with a perk like extended barrel or even something like hammer forge, something just giving you a little extra range without hurting your stats too terribly much.

And the only reason why I say Extended Barrel is okay is because we have perks like Advanced Reflexes that is helping us with that handling.

I think it makes up for that minus ten from Extended Barrel.

I found that this role enabled me to engage in so many one v ones against weapons that I should not have beat against players that were also Ascendant, and it performed so well.

So yes, guys, I do like the Kill Clip role, and I think that's a great role for six v six.

I love the time to kill values, and I know that's like the thing you would want to put on the front of a weapon, right?

Especially like a thumbnail, like, hey, look at this, point five, three second TTK, yada, yada.

But listen to me, fellas.

Eye of the Storm, moving targets, high caliber rounds, or even ricochet rounds, and a range boost and barrel perk with a range masterwork, you are going to cook, both for controller and mouse and keyboard users.

I felt so good entering engagements with this autorifle.

And look, this is coming from someone who has reviewed ammunition multiple times.

I've reviewed Firefright, Monte Carlo, Surus Regime, Perpetualist.

We've looked at a number of autorifles.

But there is something here that Tigerspine possesses that, in my opinion, outclasses these other autorifles.

And it's just that subjective feel.

The only other auto rifle that we still need to test to see if it can compare is Breakneck.

Breakneck is the one we gotta go play Gambit for, and yes, we're gonna be going for it.

Personally, I'm gonna be very surprised if Breakneck beats out Tiger Spite PvP.

I think in PvE, it definitely has a shot.

But inside of PvP, Tiger Spite is popping.

And I still remember way back when, when we reviewed Tiger Spite, and at the time, I thought that Surplus in Kill Clip was the god role.

And don't get me wrong, it was a good role.

But the main reason why I liked Surplus way back then was because of the handling buff.

I hate how sluggish four fifties can feel.

That little bit of time that it takes to get that weapon ready and firing, that right there can lose you gun fights.

However, whether it's the origin traits, whether it was the role that I was using here on Tiger Spite, this weapon felt fluid.

I was able to handle ones very easily.

So guys, that is our review for Tiger Spite.
