  • The Nashville school shooting incident that took place recently has gained attention nationwide. In particular, the heroic actions of Officer Rex Engelbert, who grew up in Chicago, have been praised. Officer Engelbert, along with other officers, rushed into Covenant Christian School to take down the shooter. His brother, Kevin Engelbert, spoke about Rex's heroism, stating that their mother always taught them to be brave. Kevin described Rex as a compassionate and gentle giant who was always there for those in need. Rex followed his training during the incident and is grateful that his training kicked in and helped him stop the threat. Having grown up in Chicago and attended Queen of All Saints for grade school and Loyola Academy for high school, Rex has always displayed bravery and compassion. He now resides in Nashville with his fiance and remains passionate about his work. The community has embraced Rex as a true hero.
